Functions
The technology manager is responsible for the following tasks:
- Direct the technology team based on the strategic guidelines of the organization and thus ensure that the capacity, structure and knowledge of technologies are adopted by the work teams.
- Ensure that the strategic and particular objectives are met, that the human resources structure is consistent with what is requested.
- Ensure that the architectures are meeting the needs of the organization and manage the related costs.
- Align and organize the objectives through product leaders, following up on customer needs, evaluating the efficiency and competitiveness of the platform.
- Maintain strategic alliances with other hardware providers to optimize product activity.
Job skills
- Knowledge for project management: formulates, plans, directs and controls projects, especially focused on technological projects; in addition to knowledge about the different financing and control methods that have been designed for this purpose.
- Techniques for the assimilation of technologies: know the technology, discriminate between its limitations and advantages, apply the one that best suits the needs of the organization.
- Knowledge for the negotiation of technologies: analyzes and evaluates the different technological alternatives to be applied in the organization and decides which of them is the most appropriate.
- Technological creation and innovation: identifies new applications and uses of the knowledge developed by the company in technological projects or in efforts aimed at obtaining new opportunities.
- Administrative skills: performs competitively in technology management and leads all its activities, in addition to the set of human qualities that allow it to be ethical, fair and responsible in its management.
